Marjorie Dickey

–

Suwanee, Georgia

Marjorie Ann Dickey, a woman of adventurous spirit and compassionate heart, passed away on March 13, 2024. Born on November 17, 1925, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Robert and Pearl Ince, Marjorie lived a life defined by dedication, generosity, and a remarkable zest for life. As Henry David Thoreau once wrote, "Live the life you've dreamed." Marjorie did just that, cultivating a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Marjorie was an active participant in her community, pouring her dedication into civic, charitable, and church organizations in Venezuela, Brazil, and the United States. Her generous spirit was a beacon to those who knew her, and her compassionate nature touched the lives of many. An accomplished Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League, she also found joy in being an active member of the Polo Golf and Country Club. Education was of great importance to Marjorie; she attended Indiana University and carried her love for learning throughout her life.

Marjorie's adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, traveling to places as diverse as Africa, India, and Antarctica with her late husband, Carl Dickey. She found joy in simple pleasures like playing games with her family, reading, cooking, and watching game shows. Marjorie had a special love for dogs, and her home was always open to four-legged friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her son Stanton.

Marjorie is survived by her three devoted daughters, Sheryl Roche (Steve), Nancy Dickey (Glen Skelton), and Janene Normand (Christopher). She was a cherished Gramee to Meghan Roche (Josh Granados), Cailin Reynolds (Kyle Reynolds), Kevin Skelton (Vanessa Skelton), Patrick Skelton (Katie Harsch), Jeffrey Skelton (Megan Burnham), Rachel Normand, and Courtney Normand. Marjorie also had the joy of being a Great Gramee to Owen Skelton, Grant Skelton, and Nolan Granados.

In honor of Marjorie's life, funeral services will be held at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA. Her final resting place will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

As we remember and celebrate Marjorie, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Each memory shared will help keep her adventurous spirit, compassionate heart, and generous nature alive in our hearts.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the building fund at St. Brendans Catholic Church
