Marilyn M. Mason, born in Atlanta, attended E. Rivers Grammar School, ultimately graduating from North Fulton High School before going on to attend Ward-Belmont College in Nashville. Desiring to further her artistic talents she then moved to New York to study fashion illustration before returning to Atlanta after two years in art school. Some of Marilyn's artworks hang in the Dawson County courthouse today. A debutante of the Atlanta chapter, she then married Robert Mason and started her family while still in Atlanta. She is survived by her daughters Chris Huff and Lee Hodges, her son Mark and grandson John Hodges. Returning to her family's ancestral county in the early sixties, she and her husband, Robert, ultimately retired to their property in Dawson County, enjoying the many social contacts that she had amongst both friends and business associates. Ever active in promoting the Gospel of Christ throughout her life, she remained a close friend and confidant to her many church friends and close business associates as well as a supporter of numerous organizational and individual charitable causes.
