On Friday, March 13, 2026, Maliki David Clarence Crocker, passionate and loving son, brother, and father, passed away at the age of 22. He was born on July 8, 2003 to Dennis Clarence Crocker and Lesi Canupp Lovell.
Maliki was a kind, gentle soul who deeply loved everyone around him. It was impossible to be in a room with Maliki without feeling the extent of that love. He was attentive and caring, and those who knew him will certainly have many memories of him full of laughter.
He had a huge heart for animals, and volunteered with the Humane Society in high school. He never met an animal that he wouldn’t dote on, even if that meant letting your dog eat its bodyweight in goldfish.
While anyone could see the light and love of life that Maliki brought into a room, there was also a current of deep curiosity and boundless creativity underneath it all. He was constantly asking questions about how the world worked. He was an avid reader and writer who always had a story to share with anyone who would listen. He was also an avid lover of horror movies and any genre of music.
No discussion of Maliki would be complete without mentioning the depth of love he had for those he called family. He was a devoted brother, son, and partner, and had just welcomed his son, Korey, into the world. The legacy of Maliki will live on in the love of those around him. Those who were lucky enough to know Maliki and to call him family will always have a special connection.
Maliki is survived by his loving fiancée Shaniah Hill and infant son Korey Crocker, Josh and Bethany Demarest, his siblings, Sadie Keller, Kaden Crocker, Kayley Foster, Courtney Crocker, Caroline Crocker, Jay Canupp, Breley Sexton, Brenton Sexton, Dominic Sorrells, Gabriel Canupp, Lillian Canupp, his mother, maternal grandmother, Brenda Harrelson, maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Harrelson, paternal grandfather, Dennis Crocker, paternal grandmother, Tammy Crocker, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, on Tuesday, March 31 at 5:00pm and will be followed by a gathering of friends and family at The Well at the City Center in Cumming. All are welcome to attend.
Chaplin Kent Saferight will officiate the service.
