Lake City, Florida
Lois Edgil, born Lois Walker on July 23, 1931, in Cullman, Alabama, was a vibrant embodiment of generosity, creativity, and spirited love. Her journey, which spanned over nine decades, was an inspiring testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for nurturing her artistic talents, and her relentless pursuit of spreading joy and kindness to everyone she encountered. Life may have taken her from Alabama to California, Texas, and Georgia, but it was in Lake City, Florida, where she spent her golden years, close to her eldest daughter, creating beautiful art and making an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone around her.
Lois, a beloved mother and grandmother, was known for her loving heart and sassy spirit. Her life was enriched by her two devoted daughters, Connie Callahan and Teresa Tucker, and further brightened by her cherished grandchildren, Audrey and Ryan Tucker. The love for her family was palpable, and she was a constant source of comfort, support, and warm laughter. Her creative spirit found expression in her garden, her cross-stitch creations, her ceramics, and in the final years, her adult coloring books, where she created beautiful pieces of art. The staff at the nursing home adored Lois and she brought joy to their lives every day with her infectious smile and loving words. She was a woman of exceptional generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word, reminding everyone of the power of kindness.
Lois was preceded in death by her loving parents, Onus and Lottie Walker, her devoted husband, Bobby Edgil, and her caring son-in-law, Shawn Tucker. Her legacy of love, creativity, and generosity will forever be cherished by her surviving daughters, Connie Callahan (Ken Callahan) and Teresa Tucker, and her beloved grandchildren, Audrey and Ryan Tucker.
A visitation will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home on February 1, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:00AM, with a funeral beginning at 11:00AM. Interment will follow the service at GA National Cemetery.
