Cumming, Georgia
Lizabeth Ann Witt, 57, passed peacefully at home on July 26th, 2026 surrounded by family.
Liz was born on New Year’s Eve of 1968 in Smithtown, NY to Amelia and James Witt. She moved to Cumming, GA in her early twenties.
Liz was a people person whose greatest joy was caring for others. She spent many years as a patient care technician at Northside Hospital, where her compassion and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless patients, families, and coworkers. To her, caring for others was more than a profession- it was a calling. Whether comforting a patient, encouraging a coworker, or offering a listening ear, she treated every person with dignity, grace, and genuine love. She also devoted herself to caring for her parents until they’re passing, reflecting the same selfless love she showed throughout her life.
Those who knew Liz also knew she had a stubborn streak that could not easily be matched. She wasn’t afraid to stand her ground, and if she believed she was right, you were unlikely to change her mind. Yet even in her stubbornness, there was love, conviction, and a heart that always wanted the best for those around her.
She never met a stranger, and she had a way of making them feel like lifelong friends. Her love was steady, her faith was quiet yet strong, and her life reflected the words, “Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Mixon; her children, Brandon Roberts, Alexandria Roberts, and Tyler Roberts (Evelyn); her siblings, Peter Witt (Kerry), Catherine Ferraro (Greg), Stephanie Weise, and Paul Witt (Doug Geller); and many nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered by her joyful spirit, colorful personality, and her constant laughter and smiles.
A visitation will be at McDonald and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
