Linda Jeanne Milstead

Linda Jeanne (Fry) Milstead 78 of Suwanee, GA. entered her eternal home and into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2024. She had battled against an autoimmune disease for several years. Her husband and two sons were with her as she completed her earthly journey.

Linda was born in Roswell, New Mexico on January 23, 1946 to parents Leroy and Jeanne Fry. After graduating from Roswell High School in 1964, she attended Arizona State University for two years. Then in 1966 she was employed by United Airlines as a flight attendant. She lived and worked for United in Chicago and Los Angeles before reconnecting with high school sweetheart, James (Jim) Milstead. The two married in February 1970.

Linda was very much a lady, the essence of style and grace but she was also a fun loving, ready for anything individual. She had a keen sense of humor and a quick wit and was always ready with a bright smile and a helping hand. She was selfless and her humble nature allowed her to model God’s love and caring for others. She had an intense, unconditional love for her family and a steadfast loyalty to her many friends.

She loved entertaining and was an excellent hostess. While it is seemingly uncharacteristic, she had a bit of a “wild side” and had been skydiving and had spent hours perched on the seat of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. She was also athletic and very much a competitor on the tennis court and on the golf course.

During their life together, Linda and Jim lived in 10 different locations due to job transfers. She masterfully adapted to each

new environment and readily immersed herself into the new settings making friends and getting involved in school, church, and civic activities. She had a saying that was her guide, “bloom where you are planted”.

She is survived by her husband Jim of Suwanee, GA.; stepdaughter Lisa Foreman of Fairview, TX; son Gregory and wife Allison of Cumming, GA.; son Michael and wife Denise of Cumming GA.; granddaughters Samantha Beck, Amanda Arcos, Alyssa, Megan, Brianna, Kaylin, and Addison Milstead; and grandson Holton Milstead. Just recently two new arrivals were added--great granddaughter Amelia Arcos and great grandson Lincoln Beck. Additionally, Aunt Betty Jones of Scottsdale, AZ; sister Marty Fry of Roswell, NM.; sister Jody Alpers and husband Greg of Roswell, NM; and brother-in-law Clyde Forbes of Colleyville, TX. There are also numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arden and Hazel Boellner of Roswell, NM; paternal grandparents, Charles and Fleeda Fry of Kalamazoo,MI; parents, Leroy and Jeanne Fry of Roswell, NM; in-laws Bill and Frances Milstead of Roswell, NM; sister Susan Forbes of Colleyville, TX; and brother Charlie Fry of Alamogordo, NM.

At her request, a private celebration of life will be held in her honor by her family on August 8 in Cumming, GA. For anyone wanting to honor her, an account has been established with the PBC Foundation in her name. The PBC Foundation does research for autoimmune liver diseases. Contact information is:
