Linda Marquis, born Linda Baker on May 9, 1949 in Champaign, IL, gracefully concluded her earthly journey on November 7, 2023. Embodying the epitome of love, generosity, and laughter, Linda was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her captivating laughter, a testament to her lively spirit, would echo in the hearts of her loved ones, reminding them of her boundless joy and warmth. Linda a gentle soul, dedicated her life to the medical field, including gracing the front office of Dr. Morrow and Resurgens Orthopedics until her retirement. Her kindness extended to all who crossed her path, not only through her professional work but also in her daily interactions, through her humorous anecdotes and thoughtful gestures.
Linda's deep devotion to family and Jesus was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a loving wife to her husband of 54 years, John (Jack) Marquis Jr., and a doting mother to her children, Jacqueline (Tim) Gaskins and John (Ashley) Marquis. Her grandchildren—Hannah, Kaylind, Abby, Sophie, Levi, Anna, Alivia, and Jackson—were the recipients of her abundant love, each one holding a special place in her heart. Linda's relationship with her sisters, Sue (Larry) Johns, Deloris Kay Beal, Barbara (John) Bruner, Penny (Dave) Waller were marked by mutual admiration, shared laughter, and a lifetime of memories. We are sure Linda is enjoying being reunited with her Mother, Deloris Bridges that preceded her into the Kingdom.
Beyond her family, Linda's generous spirit touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. She was a true testament to the verse, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed" (Proverbs 11:25). Linda's legacy of love, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, teaching them the true power of laughter, compassion, and unwavering faith.
