Linda Curbow

–

Jasper, Georgia

On April 20, 2024 our beloved mother, Mary Linda Curbow, ran into the arms of Jesus at the age of 83.

A devoted wife, grandmother, and friend, Linda spent most of her life in Georgia. She was married to her beloved HJ for 60 years, and together they built a loving Christ-centered home for their children.

Linda was selfless and always giving of herself to others. She is known for her strong faith, kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family. Linda had a heart for the development and learning of children and spent her career pouring herself into them. She was a kindergarten teacher and KinderCare Director before opening her own in-home licensed daycare for infants. She and her husband loved on, poured into, potty trained, and modeled a Christ-centered home for countless children through their work with Linda’s Babies. Known as Miss Linda and Papa Hugh, the pair were like an extra set of grandparents for the children, and Linda was a loving babysitter, friend, mentor, and second mom to the parents.

Linda had a creative mind and loved to paint all types of things from ceramics (which led her to purchase her own kiln) to Christmas ornaments, baby bottles, and even diapers for her granddaughter. Her children are blessed to have many keepsakes created by her. She collected Gone with the Wind memorabilia and all things Elvis presented to her by her grandchildren.

The only thing Linda loved more than her beloved HJ was her Jesus. A Christian for as long as she could remember, she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cumming GA, and we often found her sitting in her recliner reading her Bible or in prayer.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Hugh J Curbow Sr., her children Karen Barnes (Ed), Jeff Curbow, and Kym Manglona (Ron), her step-children Philip Curbow and Charles Curbow, her grandchildren Matthew Russell, Jesse Curbow, Christopher Russell, Kayla Manglona, Savannah Moss, Nicholas Barnes, and Teddy Curbow; as well as great-grandchildren Naomi Russell, Hadyn Russell, Ella Russell, Wyatt Russell, and Aimee Curbow, and the Linda’s Babies children Miss Linda and Papa Hugh helped raise. She gave her heart and loved each one of those babies as her own. She is also survived by her loving sister Sylvia Wilson and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Jimmy Pritchett, stepson Hugh J Curbow Jr., siblings Danny Pritchett and Cecilia Pritchett Griner, and her beloved poodle, Sugar Bear.

Our sweet Momma touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed until we join her in Heaven.

Our hearts are broken, but we know we will see her again in Paradise as the Bible tells us this in the Gospel of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We love you, Momma
