Laura Cobb

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Cobb, who left our world on Good Friday, March 29, 2024.

Laura Smith Cobb was born to Alexander and Ethel Smith, in Washington, D.C., but soon moved to Decatur, Georgia, where she grew up, married, and raised a family. She also lived in Clarkston and Conyers, and after working for many years at Trust Company in Atlanta, she retired to Cumming.

“Granny” was unfailingly sweet and oftentimes playful. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family on holidays.

Laura is survived by Lonnie Cobb, her husband of 63 years, children Ashley Cobb and his wife Tricia, Lee Cobb, Patrick Cobb, and Elizabeth Langbecker, as well as numerous grandchildren by blood and by love, and several great-grandchildren.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Laura's life at a visitation on Saturday, 13th April 2024 at 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, located at 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia, 30040.
