Kimberly Torres

Kimberly Torres of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2022 surrounded by her family. She bravely battled terminal colon cancer for eight years and fought up until the very end. Her fortitude, strength and grace were remarkable.

Kimberly's life was defined by her care and service to others. She listened with a patient ear and loved with a generous heart. Dedicating her parenthood to being a homeschool and dance mom for her daughter, Kallarin, she dedicated her time to providing a well-rounded education and giving Kallarin a fulfilling dance experience. Going out of her to make every occasion a special one, she was known for creating an opulent and festive atmosphere where friends became family. She enfolded so many people throughout her life in to her care, offering friendship, counsel and love.

Throughout her illness, her husband of 50 years served tirelessly as her primary caregiver. Kimberly and Craig met by chance at a bullfight in Madrid, Spain in 1971. Married a year later, they would go on to build a life on their own terms, traveling the world with their daughter, finding sanctuary in often remote but stunning parts of the world, and making countless memories along the way.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Torres; husband, Craig; daughter, Kallarin; son-in-law Josh and her beloved grandson, Bennett.

A memorial service will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Wednesday, December 28 with visitation beginning at 1:00pm and service beginning at 2:00pm. A reception will be held at the family's home starting at 4:00pm at 7545 Breeze Bay Road, Cumming, GA 30041 and all are welcome to attend.
