Katie (Kate) Pearl Petty

–

Dawsonville, Georgia

Katie (“Kate”) Pearl Petty was born July 30, 1934, in Charlotte, Tennessee. She departed this life to be with the Lord on December 3, 2024, in Dawsonville, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Reavis Petty, her parents Percy and Gertie Powers, by eight brothers and sisters, and by her daughter-in-law Vicky Petty. She is survived by three sons: Dan Petty (and wife Kathy), Bruce Petty (and wife Adele), and Robert Petty (and wife Benita); by eight grandchildren; and by seventeen great grandchildren.
Kate was a member of the Alpharetta Church of Christ.
Kate's life was defined by her role as a faithful wife and loving mother for her three boys. She was smart, industrious, and talented. Whatever she undertook to do--cooking, sewing, painting--she did to perfection. She loved being a mom. But she also loved being a grandmother. Nothing made her happier than seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her greatest accomplishment was her role as a faithful wife and mother. She faithfully supported her beloved husband as he devoted his life to preaching the gospel. She was always there to support him in the Lord’s work, including moving to new places throughout the years, including Tennessee, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Florida.
Kate always had a keen, understated sense of humor, traits that were endearing to everyone who knew her.
She was a faithful Christian. She loved to assemble with friends and loved ones in worship to God.
We miss her, but we look forward to seeing her again at home in the presence of the Lord.
