Kathleen Gullo

October 30, 1941-June 10, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kathleen Gullo (nee Szczecinski), who left us on June 10th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 83 years old.

She is survived by her dear and devoted husband, Peter F. Gullo, her children Peter J. Gullo (spouse Monique) and Kim Painter (spouse Rod), her grandchildren Justin, Sarah, Kate, Emma, Sam and Olive, her great grandchildren Lennon and Sofia.

Kathleen was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She was the youngest of seven children, the baby, to the parents of August and Theresa Szczecinski and sister to Mildred, Raymond, Dolores, Gene, Terry, and Lucile.

As the daughter of a New York Central railroad worker, her beginnings were humble. Hand-me-downs and a low-maintenance lifestyle were the norm, but she always spoke of her childhood as rich and full of love and fun!

As a wife and a mother, Kathleen brought these humble values to her family. She had no wants or needs for herself, only for her family and the others around her. She was accessible to everyone and never turned away anyone from her love, warmth and guidance.

Kathleen created a family legacy that will carry throughout generations. As a selfless matriarch, her name is synonymous with our identity. She gave us a beautiful template to follow. Now, it is up to us to live as she taught us.

A service celebrating Kathleen’s life will be held from the chapel of the McDonald & Son Funeral Home (150 Suwanee Drive Cumming, Georgia 30340) on Saturday, June 28th at 9am.
