Julia Daniel Buchholz, age 73, passed away peacefully December 11, 2020. She was born September 25, 1947 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Ruth Henry Daniel and James Coleman Daniel.
She graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1965, attended Salem College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in History in 1969.
She married Charles Edward Buchholz in 1972 and they lived in Raleigh and Winston-Salem, NC where they had two sons, Charles Christopher and Scott Daniel both of whom she loved dearly. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them.
Prior to their move to Atlanta in 1988, she was a PTA board member and an active member of the Junior Leagues of Raleigh and Winston-Salem, NC with a focus on adult literacy and youth advocacy. Once in Atlanta, she was a dedicated volunteer at her sons' schools.
After almost 18 years working at Crawford & Company, she retired in 2015, and she devoted as much time as she could to her sons and grandchildren. She especially loved her role as Mimi.
She was a voracious reader, always willing to read almost anything recommended to her, and an avid gardener who especially enjoyed trips to Highlands, NC with friends and family to escape the summer heat or see the beautiful fall foliage.
As an active member of St David's Episcopal Church in Roswell, GA, she enjoyed participating in Bible study, Sunday School and fellowship with her friends there whenever possible.
She is survived by her sons Chris (Margaret) of Atlanta, GA and Scott (Katie) of Cumming, GA, her five grandchildren Mason, Louise, Eliza, Henry and Caroline, her brother Coleman (Mary) of Rock Hill, SC, and many loving extended family and friends.
