Obituary of Joyce Ann Stancil Thomas
Joyce Ann Stancil Thomas, 82 years old, from Dawsonville, passed away on Wednesday, May
29, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Lee Thomas Jr.
Born on February 17, 1942, in Cumming, GA, Joyce was the daughter of the late Eula Mae
Yabrough Stancil and Cleon Stancil. She graduated from Forsyth County High School, where
she actively participated in basketball and cheerleading. Throughout her career, she was
employed at Life of Georgia Insurance Company as an upper level manager, starting at age 16
and retiring at the age of 65. Joyce was known for her peaceful nature, enjoying quality time
with her family and watching sports on Saturdays. She was a dedicated worker and a caregiver
to many.
Joyce leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Tia and Jeff Swanger, her granddaughters
Abi Pawlik and Ana Swanger, as well as her great-grandson, Griffin Pawlik.
