Joyce Gasaway

Joyce Gasaway, 84, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2024, surrounded by family.

Joyce was born on February 26,1940 to Arvil and Senie Clayton Mulkey in Ellijay, GA.

She married Wes Gasaway on December 25, 1957, in Woodstock. She was a homemaker for many years and a doctor’s assistant in Roswell. She enjoyed playing tennis and stayed in touch with her tennis team. She and Wes lived on Lake Lanier where she enjoyed many water activities. She enjoyed playing bells at Deercreek Presbyterian Church near their home. She was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. She and Wes were members of First Redeemer Church in Cumming.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Wes; sons Greg (Gail) and Russ (Connie); her brother Wayne; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her brothers Vernie, Zeke, Tate and Hoover and sisters Clora Moore, Edgel Mulkey, Sophia Chasten Mann and Opal Mulkey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 2:00 - 4:00 pm at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, located at 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia, 30040.

The Celebration of Life service will follow on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the same location. The graveside service will take place later that day, at 4:30 pm EST at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, located at 10358 Georgia 52, Ellijay, Georgia, 30536.
