Yea yea I know I am gone, it surprised me too, but party on in my memory. "If there's one thing I've learned in my 40 years, it's to live life to the fullest, to love deeply, and to laugh often. And hopefully, I've managed to spread a bit of that joy to all of you." Peace Out!
It is with both a heavy heart and a sense of humor that we share the words of Joshua Puckett, better known as Puckett, who bid us farewell on October 27, 2023.
Joshua was born on a brisk winter day, January 6, 1983, in Dahlonega, Georgia. The son of Stephanie Welch and Ricky Puckett (Stepmom Charlene) he was a beacon of light and laughter, always ready to share a joke or a funny story. Joshua was not just smart and funny; he was also a loving son, grandson, brother, and uncle. Sisters Jessica Ashley (brother n law Ashley Fortner) Brittany Simonson, Amber Puckett and Skyla Puckett, grandfather's; Jerry Ray and Ronnie Puckett, nieces; Chloe, Cassi & Cali Fortner, can attest to his protective and caring nature. Joshua had a way of making every day feel like a new adventure, his zest for life was infectious.
A man of many talents, Joshua found joy in music, often playing the guitar until the wee hours of the night. He was a dedicated manufacturing assembler at Reid Packaging Crating and Transport service for 15 years. But beyond the confines of his job, Joshua was a free spirit, his love for hiking, biking, and yes, even skateboarding at 40, were a testament to his young-at-heart spirit. As Albert Einstein once said, "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." Josh embodied this philosophy, always on the move, always ready for the next adventure.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to Dahlonega Funeral Home for Final expenses 706-864-DOVE (3683).
We invite you to join us in a Celebration of Life with Toast for Josh on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, at 4:00 PM EDT at The Venue at 223, 223 Torrington Drive, Dahlonega, Georgia. In the spirit of Josh, we encourage you to bring your best stories, your laughter, and your love. Please feel free to share your memories and upload photos to Joshua's memorial page. Let's remember Josh for who he was - a funny, smart, loving, and talented man who lived his life with gusto and left an indelible mark on all our hearts.
