Joshua Long

Joshua Lane Long, 30, a life-long native of Dahlonega GA, went to be with his heavenly family on September 17, 2020. Throughout his life, Joshua was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed studying history and graduated with honors from Lumpkin County High School, then continued his education at the University of North Georgia. He loved music and was a passionate, self-taught guitar player. Joshua adored his mother along with his young daughter and spoke often about how much he treasured spending time with them.

Joshua is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Long, and grandmother, Marlene Ricketts. He is survived by his grandparents, Allen & Tommie Jones, as well as grandfather, Richard Chase, and his mother, Heidi Kennedy, father and step mother, Stacey & Julia Long, along with his daughter Riley Ross, as well as his brothers and sisters-in law, Shawn & Morgan Long, Brandon & Morgan Marie Long along with his step siblings, Matthew & Karren Thomas, Jeremy & Jessica Johnson, and Tom & April Saunders.

The funeral service commemorating Joshua will be held at 3:00 PM on September 22, 2020 at Dahlonega Funeral Home, which will be presided by Steve Anderson. Family will receive friends following the service until 6pm.
