Jon Leslie Mansfield, 62, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on July 24, 2023. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on July 1, 1961. He attended Georgia State University for his undergraduate degree and received his Ph.D. in 1992. Jon was a professor of economics for 24 years at GSU and thoroughly enjoyed teaching and sharing with his students, receiving commendations for his teaching skills. In addition, he taught for two summers at the University of Monterrey in Mexico City.

His predeceased parents were Sharon Delbridge Mansfield and Leslie George Mansfield. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Deb and John Faison of Cumming, nephew Jack Faison of Tennessee, along with many other close family and friends.

Jon was a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle and was truly devoted to his family. After retiring, he moved to Cumming in 2016 to care for his father after the passing of his mother in 2012. He lived a full life, enjoyed taking numerous trips to Mexico and making friends along the way. He was fun to be around, easy to talk with, and cared deeply for his friends and neighbors. There are many who will miss him greatly, but we all will have special memories of our time with him. We are grateful Jon was a part of our lives.
