John Sitton Reid III

John Sitton Reid III was born May 18, 1950 in Atlanta, GA. He earned his heavenly wings early on the morning of January 26, 2024, while surrounded by his family & his pastors. John is preceded in death by his father & mother, Mr. John Sitton Reid Jr. & Anne Huguenin Reid, and by his younger brother Gregory Huguenin Reid. He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Henry Willard & his sister-in-law, Susan Willard Williams.

John is survived by his loving wife, Janice Willard Reid of almost 44 years. He is also survived by his sister Donna Reid Graham/Stan, his mother-in-law Dot Willard, his sisters-in-law: Nancy Willard Carter/Gary & Sandra Willard Smith. John also leaves behind many nieces/nephews, great nieces/great nephews, & cousins whom he loved very much.

John & Janice loved world traveling & spending time together with family & friends. They also spent much of their time as grandparents/great grandparents with their nieces & nephews and great nieces/great nephews. John was very active at Cumming Baptist Church as a greeter & usher. He was an amazing friend to so many. John’s hobbies included traveling, & a love for WWII Army Air Force memorabilia. He would always thank & acknowledge veterans that he would come in contact with. John also loved automobiles. He enjoyed acquiring, restoring, & cruising in them. He loved attending local car shows & watching car auctions on TV.

John will mostly be remembered for his loving & caring personality that he displayed to everyone that he met. He was always so calm, caring, & never hesitated to lend a hand to family, friends, & anyone in need.

Celebration of Life Service at Cumming Baptist Church, 115 Church Street in Cumming, GA:
Monday, January 29 at 3pm
Rev. Blake Carter, Rev. Jamie Archer, & Rev. Mark Wood will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, Ga.
