John Russell “Russ” DeLoach
April 27, 1943 – April 4, 2025
John Russell “Russ” DeLoach of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 81.
Russ was born on April 27, 1943, in Great Falls, South Carolina, to Pansy Orr and James Dayton DeLoach. He later moved to Tampa, Florida, where he graduated from Robinson High School and went on to attend the University of South Florida. Russ served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967.
He built a distinguished career in business, spending 22 years with ADP, where he rose to become Senior Vice President of Sales and a Corporate Officer of the multi-billion dollar company. His professional success was matched by the deep and lasting friendships he maintained with colleagues long after his retirement.
At the heart of Russ’s life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved. He shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Owen DeLoach. He is survived by their two sons, Jefferson Russell DeLoach and his wife Dee Ann, and Mark DeLoach, all of Suwanee, along with his cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Mackenzie DeLoach.
Russ is also survived by his sister Diane Key of Bradenton, FL; his sisters-in-law Mary Ann DeLoach of Lakeland, FL, and Tricia Sutphin of Rock Hill, SC; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pansy and James Dayton DeLoach, and his brother, James Edward DeLoach.
Outside of work and family, Russ enjoyed many passions. He was an avid golfer, a dedicated bird hunter, and a man of deep faith who served the Lord with a humble and joyful heart. His life was also marked by a special devotion to the cause of Down syndrome advocacy, inspired by his love for his son Mark.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Russ’s memory to the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta,: https://www.dsaatl.org/give.
Russ leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, faith, and devotion — a life well lived and deeply cherished.
