Joe Whitaker

James Joseph Joe Whitaker, 81, of Cumming, GA died on April 14, 2010. Born in Atlanta, GA he was the son of the late Joseph and Dovie Whitaker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Alice Pervis. Joe was a member of the Lake Lanier Jehovah s Witness Congregation. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Whitaker of Cumming, GA; daughters, Judy Matthews of Dallas, GA, Brenda (Jeff) Thompkins of Dallas, GA and Emily (Tim) Holley of Cumming, GA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org or 800.ACS.2345).
