Jimmy Carlton Varnum

–

Cumming, Georgia

Jimmy Carlton Varnum was a Navy Vietnam War Veteran, who proudly served our country.

He was also an accomplished pilot, excellent bowler, painter and he loved to dance.

He was taken away from us due to complications from Covid on November 27, 2022, just after celebrating his 77th birthday.

Many knew him, loved him, laughed with him and called him friend.

He was an avid reader, and loved to make handmade trinkets for his friends.

If you are one of the lucky ones to have received one of Jimmy's handmade gifts, you are blessed.

He was a native of Chamblee Georgia and had many friends scattered throughout.

We believe him to be survived by a daughter, brother, sister, and ex-wives.

Besides, his strong affection for books, he also loved scuba diving, peanut butter and especially a good glass of vino.

He was a man with a passion for life and never turned down a chance for adventure, whether it was skydiving, flying or defending our country.

Jimmy always had a smile and a good joke to share, no matter what his circumstance.

He was beloved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.

Graveside services will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on January 4th, 2023 at 1:00pm.

A procession will leave McDonald and Son Funeral Home at 11:30am for those that would like to pay tribute to Mr. Varnum.
