Jimmy Warren Pinson
January 21, 1935 – October 8, 2025
Jimmy Pinson, 90, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 8, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Earl and Mildred (ne Starnes) Pinson.
Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, traveling overseas to Japan. After his service, he studied at Auburn University (War Eagle!) where he met his committed wife of 63 years, Gay, before beginning a long career in construction, building both homes and commercial spaces throughout the South East, and making Georgia their lifelong home.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert, his son Kevin, and his grandson Sam. He is survived by his wife, Gay; his son, Shane; his sister, Beverly; and his grandchildren Emma, Abby, Katie, and Zach, along with their partners and families.
“Grandaddy” will be remembered for his friendliness and sense of humor, his ever-present truck (and occasional motorcycle), quickness to be there for friends and family, and his avid passion of collecting (anything and everything). He was a man of discipline and consistency, quick to remind that he never took a sip of alcohol, and always dressed in his signature khakis and plaid button downs.
We are comforted knowing Grandaddy is at peace and reunited with Robert, Kevin, and Sam, likely giving each of them a piece of his mind.
At this time, no funeral service is planned. Should one be scheduled, details will be shared by the family. Jimmy’s ashes will be stored at the Georgia National Cemetery for veterans in Canton, Ga.
