Obituary for Jill Williams Mason February 25, 1943 - December 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Williams Mason, who left us on December 4, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on February 25, 1943, in Winslow, Indiana, Jill was the fourth of five children born to Leo and Marsha Williams. She grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of her brothers Barry, Michael, Phillip, and Richard, who all grew up working on the family’s farm and local restaurant. She is survived by her brothers Michael and Richard.

Jill married her beloved husband, Frances Alfred Mason, in 1964, and together they raised two daughters, Allison Paige Sullivan and Leigh Mason Hummel. She was the proud and loving grandmother to Nicholas, Sydney, and Mia, who were the light of her life. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Al died in March 2015 and she is survived by her immediate family.

At the age of 18, Jill moved to Atlanta, where she began working for Delta Airlines, a job that marked the start of her lifelong love for travel. She later worked as a secretary for Mason Hall and Co. before choosing to dedicate herself fully to her family as a homemaker. Throughout her life, Jill had a passion for nature, particularly birds and plants. Her green thumb allowed her to create beautiful spaces that mirrored the love and care she gave to everyone around her. Her kindness and generosity were unmatched, and she had an unwavering ability to make others feel special.

Jill faced many challenges with great grace, including a lifelong battle with rheumatoid arthritis that eventually led to dementia in her later years. Even in her struggles, she maintained her warmth and love for her family and friends. Jill was an avid traveler, and she took great joy in planning adventures with those she loved, always eager to explore the world and create memories.

She was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be remembered for her deep love, her strength, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Jill's legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family will live on forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jill will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jill’s memory to a charity supporting Rheumatoid Arthritis Research or Callaway Gardens through the Ida Cason Callaway Foundation.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December, 14th at 1 o’clock PM at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming Georgia. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 11 AM to 1PM.
