Jenelle Hickman

Jenelle Hickman, 81, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 20, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Jenelle is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Hickman, daughters; Cindy (Kyle) Flanary, Pam (Bill) Dunford, son; Tony (Angie) Hickman, grandchildren; Rob (Tina) Stubbs, Scott (Nathalia) Dunford, Mallory Dunford, TJ Hickman, Andrew Hickman; great-grandchildren; Piper Stubbs, Everett Stubbs, Helena Dunford, brother; Emory (Mary Ann) Williams and many nieces and nephews.

Being extremely intelligent and independent, Jenelle was always learning and sharing her knowledge with those around her. As an active member of the community, she volunteered for many years at Northside-Forsyth Hospital, as well as Creative Enterprises where she taught gardening skills and cooking classes to adults with disabilities.

She loved to sew and made both her daughter's wedding dresses. As an avid gardener, she never met a plant that she could not tame and spent most of her time outdoors. Another passion of Jenelle's was cooking, with her family claiming she made the best banana pudding and fried chicken in the world. Her greatest joy was bringing together her family and sharing her cooking with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hidden Acres Barn, 6467 Old Gillsville Rd., Gillsville, GA 30543 on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 2:30 until 4:30. Family and friends are invited to attend in floral or brightly colored clothing, which Jenelle loved.
