Jean Kirby

–

Cumming, Georgia

In the gentle quiet of our hearts, we celebrate the life of Jean Marie Kirby, a compassionate soul whose existence was a testament to love and kindness. Born on April 10, 1932, in Dunwoody, GA, Jean was a beacon of light in the lives of those who had the fortune of knowing her. A dedicated mother, Aunt and dear friend, Jean left an indelible mark on this world through her generous spirit and unwavering faith. Jean left us to join her beloved ones in heaven on October 29, 2023.

As a devoted wife to her late husband, Max Kirby, and a loving mother to Gina and the late Victor, Jean exemplified the virtues of dedication, love, and generosity in every aspect of her life. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, touching the lives of those she cared for in her profession as a home health aide. Jean had a gift for growing more than just plants. Like the greenery she tenderly nurtured, Jean fostered growth and prosperity in the hearts of those around her. She was a giver, never letting anyone leave her home without a gift, be it a meal, a trinket, or a warm memory.

A long-time member of Cumming First Baptist and more recently Antioch Baptist Church, Jean's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She taught Sunday School for many years, crafting unforgettable experiences such as bringing baby piglets for 'city' kids to play with. Her involvement in the 401st Armed Forces reunions alongside her husband showcased her dedication to community and her resilient spirit. Jean's life was guided by the words of the Bible, "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35). Jean lived this verse, showing love to all she encountered and leaving a legacy of kindness.

Jean is survived by her cherished daughter, Gina Bonner. She joins in heaven her parents, Leonard and Louisa Taylor, her beloved husband, Max Kirby, and her son, Victor Kirby, her sisters and brothers. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace with her loved ones in the Kingdom of Heaven.

We invite you to share your memories of Jean and upload photos to her memorial page. Each story and picture serves as a testament to Jean's impactful life and helps carry her legacy forward. May her life continue to inspire us all to love generously, live compassionately, and embrace every moment with dedication.
