Jane Munroe Grayson, nee Dryden, age 94 passed away quietly on July 13, 2022 at Lanier Place Assisted Living Center in Cumming, Georgia. She is survived by her son Larry, daughter-in-law Joyce, and her grandson Paul.
A fabulous mom and loving grandmother, Jane was married to Robert Grayson, her best friend for 68 years. She was a military wife and spent a good deal of her adult life living overseas in Okinawa, Finland, Greece, and Ecuador. Jane was an operating room nurse for over 25 years and the head operating room nurse at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, as well as Director of Nursing and her local AORN Chapter representative. She was the lead nursing instructor for several years and was part of the team that performed the first successful heart transplant on a cow in 1986.
Jane was an avid bowler averaging over 200 and a prodigious quilter, crafting over 100 full-sized quilts for friends and family. Two of her quilts were selected as gifts for visiting countries as a part of the "Quilt of Leaves" project for the Olympic Games and one of her quilts hangs in the capital of Brunei. A die-hard Braves fan and Celtics fan, you could normally find her watching baseball, golf, tennis, basketball or some other sport.
