Greg was a mechanic by trade and spent most of his career working for Georgia Power. He remained close to many of his colleagues long after he retired.
Greg was an incredible father, grandfather, and friend to many. He had a love for the outdoors that he enjoyed sharing with others. For many years Greg coached youth baseball and softball in Forsyth County, impacting the lives of many young people. During his younger years, he spent many weekends camping and boating on Lake Hartwell with his family and friends where he taught countless kids to kneeboard, water-ski and wakeboard. He shared his love for fishing with everyone and his knowledge and passion with folks of all ages. Greg fell in love with the community of Orange Beach, Alabama where he made his home after his retirement. He found comfort in a local men’s group there where he formed many lasting relationships. He was a regular volunteer at Youth Reach in Robertsdale, Alabama where he served as a mentor for at-risk young men. Greg loved Alabama, not just the state, the Crimson Tide, and made sure everyone knew it. Greg loved southern rock music, especially The Allman Brothers Band and was a lifelong stock car racing fan.
Greg will be missed by all those who knew him.
