James Alfred Hughes

Mr. James (Jim) Alfred Hughes 86, of Cumming, Georgia was born on February 5, 1935 in Forest, MS to Allen Hine and Annie Mae Strong Hughes. He took his wings and flew away at home with his wife and children holding his hands on July 20, 2021.

Jim gave his life to Christ at an early age.

He was a people person, he will be remembered for being loving, kind and taking care of others. Jim was a father to many children and grandchildren. He loved building things, fishing, deer hunting and gardening.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife Lou (Sweetheart) Hughes and his stepson, Ronald (Seba) Myers. He was preceded in death by Malloun (Mae) Hughes, Allen (Annie) Hughes, Verlon (Sally) Hughes, Jonathan (Mae) Hughes and Elmond (Easter) Hughes.

James is survived by his sister and brothers, Johnson, Mytis M. Evan, Joliet, IL, Julis Rosatta Wanderly, Albion, MI and Magon Bradford, Forest, MS.

Additionally, he is survived by his in-laws, Eddie (Ethel) Myers, Pachuta, MS, Jethro O. Hayes, Jackson, MS and Lois M. Thompson, Lawrenceville, GA.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 26th, 2021 from 9:00am, - 11:00am at Piedmont United Methodist Church 1170 Dahlonega Highway Cumming, Georgia 30040.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at the church after the visitation.

Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
