Dawsonville, Georgia
It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of James Allen Carr, 55, of Dawsonville, GA at 1:16 am August 13, 2024. We rejoice knowing he was received into Heaven hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant...Come and share in your Master’s happiness.”
Jim was born on March 3, 1969 in Indianapolis, IN. Adopted by his parents, Robert and Shirley Carr, Jim was blessed to grow up in Valparaiso, IN with his 5 siblings, and over 30 foster siblings. His parents’ beautiful example of Christ-like love was a great source of pride to him. Jim embodied that same love and devotion to his wife, Lisa Devere Carr, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, and friends.
Jim led each day honored to follow God’s plan for him. He was an amazing husband, invariably holding true to his Christian beliefs. Always faithful in his decisions, and consistently supportive, Jim lived with an eagerness to serve and help others. He was outgoing and kind, steadfast, strong and always dependable. Jim found great joy in facilitating the fruition of others’ dreams. Never knowing a stranger, he simply loved everyone and was loved by everyone in return.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lisa of 13 1/2 years and his children Caitlyn (Grant Bobo), James (Paige), Mason (Caroline), and Sara (Joseph Bailey) as well as step children Kaitlin (Logan Walls), Elizabeth (Justin Tarwater), and Natalie (Devin Thomas). He is also survived by his precious 9 grandchildren, with 2 more on the way. The joys of his life are Esther and Zeke Carr; twins Harley and Nellie Bailey; Miller Grace, Lochlan, and John Quinton Walls; and Walter and Whitman Tarwater, all of whom adore their “Papa Jim” and will forever cherish the moments shared with their loving Papa. Jim is also survived by his siblings, Bill Carr, David Carr, Lynn (Tom Boo), and his beloved sister Laurie (Joe Mullet); his former wife, Susan (Jeff Buffington) and his many cousins, friends, and loving neighbors. The predeceased family members include his father, Robert Carr, his mother Shirley Carr, and his brother, Bob Carr. Jim will be selfishly missed by all who loved him. Yet we find comfort in the truth that God has graciously and faithfully accepted Jim into his Kingdom with open arms.
