Jacquelyn Norton

–

Cumming, Georgia

Jacquelyn Edith Norton, 85, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was called home to the God who gave her life and is now reunited with her eternal companion and the love of her life, Robert Leo Norton.

Known affectionately as Jacqui, she was born in Chicago, Illinois, and was the second child of Colonel Leigh Hunt and Marcelle Engh. Growing up in a military family, she traveled extensively during her younger years. She later attended college, earned a bachelor’s degree in education, and taught elementary school for a time.

While returning to Chicago after visiting her family in Utah, Jacqui met Robert on a train traveling from Salt Lake City. Their chance meeting marked the beginning of a lifelong love story. They were married on December 26, 1963, settled in Northern California, and raised five children together.

Jacqui loved her family deeply and had an abiding love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she faithfully served others through the Girl Scouts and in many Church callings. She taught her children the importance of sports and passed along her lifelong love of swimming. She wholeheartedly supported her husband, children, and grandchildren in their activities, goals, and accomplishments.

Jacqui also loved to travel. One of the great highlights of her retirement years was the opportunity to serve two religious missions in Russia. Over a four-year period, she served in Vladivostok and St. Petersburg, sharing her faith and love of the Savior with those around her.

Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her eternal family, which grew to include five children, 22 grandchildren, and many beloved great-grandchildren. Her faith, devotion, encouragement, and unconditional love will continue to bless her family for generations.

A celebration of Jacqui’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to noon Eastern Time at a chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 3185 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming, Georgia.

Flowers may be sent to McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia 30040.
