Jacqueline Anne Cooper Smith Deschambault (79), Born June 19, 1947, in St. Augustine, Florida - Grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, Passed away peacefully in a room filled with the presence of God; surrounded by family and friends.
The days leading up to her passing - she poured out to every single person who came to visit (nearly 80 people). It was supernatural - she was alert, and still as spunky and straightforward as ever.
She encouraged, instilled wisdom and gave us laughs throughout the days leading up to her move to heaven.
At one point, her eyes closed - she said, “I thought your hair would be longer”. We asked her, Do you see Jesus - she nodded, yes. We asked - what does He look like? Her answer: Well, He could’t be more Jewish”.
In 1972 in a green velour chair in Jacksonville, FL she met Him and gave her heart to Him. Her life was forever changed that day as He came out of the history books into the present and made Himself real to her. That decision has forever changed our lives. WE KNOW HIM because of her!
She finally met Him face to face Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 12:40 AM - the lover of her soul - Her Savior, Healer, Redeemer, Friend, Bridegroom and Her Prince of Peace - King Jesus! It was the most beautiful thing we have ever witnessed.
Jacque loved the Word of God and decided 4 years ago to study at Kineo Ministry Training Center. Whether in the hospital or in her last months of life, she was determined to finish her course of study. She did just that! She graduated and earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies (while on Hospice), June 28, 2026. She finished well.
She absolutely loved her yard, she loved gardening and let us not forget how she HATED Kudzu! She enjoyed talks out on the front porch, reading the Word of God and listening to the birds sing. She enjoyed playing cards & games with anyone who’d play with her - she always seemed to win at Canasta! She hosted well and always had some kind of yummy dessert waiting for her guests and they were always served on doilies! She was a truthful, classy, southern lady.
She would always brag on her children and grandchildren - and their accomplishments. We knew that she loved us as she was our biggest supporter!
She is survived by her sister, Pamela Cooper Nobles of Dothan, Alabama; her children, Robert Kenneth Smith, Jr, Christopher Curtis Smith (Audrey Davis), Joshua Chandler Smith (Amber Smith), Erika Smith Nicholson (Kevin Nicholson). Grandchildren: Samantha (Reed), Justin, Madison & Hailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Salome Cooper, Glen Cooper, Jr (brother), Deborah Fisher (sister).
