Irene Alice Bonazza

Irene A. Bonazza, 82 of Cumming, GA passed on at Emory Johns Creek Hospital on November 8th 2011. Born in Cleveland, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Roy and Carmela Christopher. Her husband Andrew J. Bonazza also preceded her. In addition to her career as a Pharmacist she took an active and daily role in the raising of two of her grandsons; J. Ian Douglas and Anthony P. Bonazza and helped run the household for her daughter and son-in-law; Debra and Scott Douglas. Irene loved learning and was interested in everything from ornithology to gourmet cooking. She shared her love of life with her family and friends and all who knew her were enriched by the relationship. She is survived by her four children: Kathy Kessler of Parma, Ohio, Thomas Bonazza of Cumming, GA, Debra Douglas of Cumming, GA, and David Bonazza of Dallas, TX, her seven grand children: Stephanie Goetz, Mark Myers, Rebecca Myers, Stephen Myers and Daniel Myers all of Cleveland, Ohio, J. Ian Douglas of Cumming, GA, Anthony P. Bonazza of Cumming, GA and seven beloved great grand children. Also her two sons-in-law: John Kessler and J. Scott Douglas and her two much loved Labradors; Sugarbear and Shadow. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday the 11th of November in the chapel at McDonald and Son Funeral Home at 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 in the reception area of the funeral home prior to the service.
