Homer T.W. "Big Tom" Jones, Jr.

Homer T.W. Jones Jr., affectionately known as "Big Tom" passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Tom was born on June 7, 1945, in Leland Mississippi. He was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Faith.

Tom served in various capacities in life including a distinguished Vietnam Veteran serving in the US AirForce, crew chief on C-130, and a retired Master Locksmith. He loved to fish, sang gospel music for residents at nursing homes, and enjoyed bird watching.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Voelker; brother, Joe D. Jones of Mississippi; sons: Clint (Christina) Jones Sr. of Cartersville, GA, Paul Jones of Mississippi; daughters: Gayle (Geoff) Thornton of Mississippi, Tessa Jones of Georgia; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Homer T.W. Jones Sr. and Celia Mae Dycus Jones; siblings: Leroy Jones, Gerald Jones, Larry Jones, Lily Mae Morris, Lorena Pulenta; two wives: Diane Collins Jones, and Phyllis Brown Jones; and baby daughter Valerie Christine Jones.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30, from 9:00AM to time of service at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 10:00AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place at the City of Jenkinsburg Cemetery.
