Henry "Al" Casey Obituary (1964 - 2026)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Alonzo “Al” Casey III, age 61, who passed away on September 19th of 2026. Born to the late Marie McKenzie Torres and Henry Alonzo Casey Jr. on October 23rd, 1964 in Fort Valley, Georgia. Al lived a life filled with laughter, joy, and a love for the outdoors. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Teghan, John, and Michael; the mother of his children and love of his life, Carol; his sisters, Karen, Teresa, Jan, and their spouses; the brother he never had, Chris; his expectant grandson; his cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved dog, Shadow. Al was raised in Perry and Americus, Georgia. Growing up, he was exceptionally intelligent, mischievous, and adored by many. His sister, Teresa, describes him as the “apple of everybody’s eye” while his other sister, Jan, says he was “the bane of his mother’s existence.” Al attended North Springs High School where he met his beloved Carol in freshman biology at the age of 14. Family was always the most important thing to Al. Ever since he was young, he spent all his summers at Tybee Island with his family beach bumming. These trips are a continued tradition of the Casey family and something he looked forward to every year. Since childhood, Al has loved to ride his bike. In his adult life, he was part of two biking communities, Wheelhopper and The Chattihooligans, where his adventurous spirit was put on display while biking and drinking beer with his buddies. One thing you could always be sure of is that Al had that big contagious smile on his face. No matter the situation or how injured and bloody he was, he was happy just being on his bike. Al studied at ABAC, where he discovered his true nature as a jack of all trades. He had worked as a bartender, landscaper, erosion control expert, inspector, real estate agent, and even ran his own grease trap truck. He wore many hats but was always a salesman at heart. For 12 enjoyable years, Al worked as an Area Parts Sales Manager for Wirtgen-America. A true peopleperson, Al’s favorite part of the job was the relationships he built with colleagues and customers. He had an admirable level of dedication to his work and never gave less than 100%. His craftsmanship could also be seen in his never-ending habit of fixing things. Whether it was a fun project or something around the house, Al was always working on something. He was a true mad scientist that was always looking for a DIY option rather than buying something. Al knew a little something when it came to just about everything. He was a keen learner and a great teacher, no matter the topic. From car troubles to politics and everything in between, Al could always answer your question and he could always contribute to the conversation. Al was always quick with a joke and the life of the party. He had a heart of gold and loved to laugh. Al also loved to cook, whether it was trying out a crazy new recipe or making his famous chocolate chip pancakes for his children, you could always be sure he’d make you something tasty. His memory will always live on in our hearts through bad jokes, bike crashes, home-cooked meals, laughter, loud t-shirts, and good beer. In lieu of flowers, plant something in honor of Al.
