Helen Mims Haymons

Helen Mims Haymons, 74, of Cumming, GA died on June 23, 2011 at Cumming Nursing Center. Born in McRae, GA she was the daughter of the late Gladys and Chris Mims. Her sister, Dorothy Mims Ryals and half-brother, Elmer Mims also predeceased her. Helen was a life-long Christian and the salutatorian of the 1955 Class of Lumber City High School. Shea was also a long time member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughters, Arlinda (Chris) Porter of Cumming, GA and Anita Lynne Haymons, Carrolllton, GA; son-in-law, Jeff James of Rock Island, WA; brother, Robert Mims of SC; and much loved grandchildren, Erica James and Patrick, Preston and Phillip Porter. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2011 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. John Whatley will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 pm, Monday, June 27 at Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae, GA.
