Heather Davis

–

Cumming, Georgia

Heather Davis of Suwanee, Georgia passed away at age 44 on December 13, 2021. She is survived by her husband: Brad Davis and their children: Andrew Bradley Davis and Emerson Grace Davis; her parents: Timothy and Sondra Roe of Loganville, GA; sister: Erica Anne Roe of Loganville, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Carrie and Chris Grimes of Cumming, GA; parents-in-law: Steve and Vicki Davis of Bonaire, GA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Heather is preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Carol Brazell Davis.

Heather loved spending time with her family and good friends, and she loved children and animals. She loved to cook, she had a great sense of humor (and a big personality) and had been incredibly fond of horses since childhood. Heather's favorite activity was being a mom to Andrew and Emmie. She was known by all as an easy person to talk to, about anything, and most people she met quickly found themselves sharing with Heather like she was a life-long friend.

Heather had a wonderful career in education. With each job she held, she was quick to have a close-knit group of coworkers, who could lean on each other and enjoy work together. She was a teacher whose students felt comfortable opening up to, and her fondest memories of teaching were the times she helped students work through life problems outside of academics. She taught school for many years before finding her passion in counseling at Denmark High School.

Heather's graveside service will be at Sawnee View Gardens on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 3:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm in the reception hall of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at givenow.lls.org, the ASPCA at aspca.org or consider donating platelets at Atlanta Blood Services in Heather's memory.

Heather's family and friends would like to thank the medical team at The Blood and Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia for their compassionate care of Heather during her battle with leukemia.

We would also like to thank Forsyth County Schools for all the support we have received throughout Heather's battle with cancer. It has truly been overwhelming.
