Greta C Baker

Greta "Peg" Baker, age 101, passed away at home on May 3, 2018 surrounded by family.

Greta is preceded in death by her parents Goldie and Ray Wilt, stepmother Nora Tehan Wilt, her husband Walter Marion Baker, Sr, son Walter Marion Baker, Jr but is survived by Walt's first wife Connie Baker. She is also survived by her children Michael Alan (Shari) Baker of Castle Rock, CO, Dianne Lee Baker of Cumming, GA; grandchildren Suzanne Gail (Jim) Sperl of Japan, Tiffany Michelle (Earl) Baker Maddox of Roswell, GA and Brandon Christopher Baker of Arapahoe, CO; great-grandchildren Kai Sperl, Ryder Sperl and Clay Maddox; and multiple other family members.

Greta volunteered with Scottish Rite Children's Hospital for 20 years beginning in 1978, where she earned the Board of Trustees Award in 1986 and served as president of the Hospital Auxilliary. She was an avid golfer and an active member of PTA the duration of her children's school years. She volunteered with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and spent countless hours gardening. Greta was an active member of Cumming First United Methodist Church.

The family wanted to wish special thanks to Visiting Angels of Lake Lanier, especially Dorothy and Terry, Season's Hospice and Dr. Sandy Carter and Dr. Khetpal.

The Baker family will receive friends at McDonald and Son Sunday, May 6th, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Funeral service will be Monday, May 7th, 2018 11:00am at Cumming First United Methodist Church with burial following at Arlington Cemetery in Atlanta.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to CHOA (Scottish Rite designation) or the food pantry at Cumming First United Methodist Church.
