Gregory Stott

–

Sugar Hill, Georgia

Gregory Allan Stott, 78, of Sugar Hill, Georgia, passed away on July 19, 2026.

Born in 1947 to Everett and Margaret Stott, Greg grew up in Sacramento alongside his brother, Kenneth. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving from 1966 to 1969. After his military service, Greg followed in his father's footsteps and spent a decade driving tractor-trailers for Di Salvo Trucking. During those years, he lived in Herald, California, with his first wife, Marijana, and their children, Bret and Tonja.

In the early 1980s, Greg returned to Sacramento and began a new chapter as a real estate agent. In 1988, he moved briefly to Los Angeles before settling in Georgia the following year. There, Greg transitioned into sales, where he met Lisa, whom he married in 2002, and settled in Sugar Hill. Greg also worked as a corrections officer in Georgia before retiring.

Greg had a zest for life and a deep love of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper, and enjoyed building models in his spare time. While living in Herald, he built and drove his own race car—a passion he returned to in retirement, racing alongside his stepson, Jason. He was a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan and a BattleBots enthusiast, and he was known for his quick wit and love of a good joke. In his later years, Greg found special companionship with his beloved dog, Maggie.

Greg is survived by his wife, Lisa Stott; his children, Bret Stott, Tonja Arca, Cortney Gaddis, Jason Strickland, and Chris Strickland; his eight grandchildren, Conner, Keira, Grady, Everly, Addison, Aiden, Scarlett, and Riley; and his brother, Kenneth Stott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Margaret Stott.

Greg will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, his devotion to his family, and his unwavering support for the underdog—in sports and in life.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Mortuary & Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, California.
