Dahlonega, Georgia
Gloria Jean Browning, affectionately known as "Mama Bear" and "Glo" to those who loved her, entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2024. Born on January 20, 1953, in Oakland, California, Gloria was a charismatic soul whose generosity and compassion were as boundless as the Pacific Ocean that lapped the shores of her birthplace. A creative spirit, her captivating personality radiated warmth and captivated every room she entered. As a devoted homemaker, Gloria's residence in Dahlonega, Georgia, was a haven of love, brimming with her unique touch of arts, crafts, and a flourishing garden.
Gloria's faith was unshakeable, her love for God and her family remaining her guiding light throughout her life. In the words of the Bible, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'" (Proverbs 31:28-29). Gloria embodied this verse, living a life of deep faith and selfless love. She was a beacon of comfort and strength to her husband, Jim Browning, her children, Jeremy Browning (Lisa), Daniel Browning and Jennifer (Andrew) Browning, and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Browning. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan (Rebecca), Justin (Karly), and Jason (Madeline), and great granddaughter Campbell Layne.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Theresa Jobe, and her cherished son, Jeremy. Gloria's vibrant spirit will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Despite the pain of her absence, the memory of her generous love, compassionate heart, and charismatic spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
As we remember Gloria, we encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos to Gloria's memorial page. Let us continue to celebrate the life of our dear Mama Bear, forever in our hearts.
