George Wilson

–

Cumming, Georgia

George W. Wilson, age 77, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Northside Forsyth Hospital.

George was born on December 31, 1948, and graduated from Curwensville High School in 1966. He continued his education at DuBois Business College until being drafted into the United States Air Force in September 1968. During his military service, George completed training at Amarillo, Texas, Shaw Air Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base, and Andrews Air Force Base.

George proudly served a tour of duty at Phan Rang Air Base in Ninh Thuận Province, South Vietnam, where he worked as a crew chief on tactical aircraft. His military service concluded at Andrews Air Force Base, where he was honored to be invited to be present for the arrival of President Richard Nixon following his historic trip to China in 1972.

On June 26, 1971, George married Pamela Morgan, daughter of John R. and Alberta (Lake) Morgan of Chestnut Grove, Pennsylvania. Together they built a life grounded in love, dedication, and family.

Following his military service, George was employed by McDonald Trucking before beginning a 35-year career with the Riverside Division of Penn Traffic in DuBois, Pennsylvania.

George was known for his willingness to help anyone in need and for his innate ability to make people laugh. He was actively involved in his community, playing softball in the Chestnut Grove Men’s Softball League and coaching Little League in DuBois, Pennsylvania. A devoted father and grandfather, George never missed a game or practice for his children—a commitment that later extended to his grandchildren’s activities.

In his quieter moments, George found joy in yard work, feeding the birds, and caring for his hummingbirds and butterflies—simple pleasures that brought him great peace.

George was preceded in death by his father, John W. Wilson; his mother, Betty Wilson; his father-in-law, John R. Morgan; his mother-in-law, Alberta Morgan; and his best friend and brother-in-law, David Aughenbaugh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Morgan) Wilson; his son, Christopher J. Wilson (Amanda) of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Melissa Price (Neal) of Cumming, Georgia; his grandchildren, Sabinah E. Wilson, Hayden C. Wilson, Morgan O. Price, and Carter N. Price; and his sister, Judith M. (Gordon) Ardary of Curwensville, Pennsylvania.
