George Morse

–

Cumming, Georgia

George Daniel Morse passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Born on September 30, 1939, he lived a life devoted to his family, service to others, and the pursuits he loved.

George had a long and distinguished career in engineering with Western Electric which later became AT&T. He also served in the United Staes Air Force in both active duty and the reserves and retired from the military in 1999. Outside of work, he found joy in running, traveling to different towns in Georgia to do 5K road races, collecting race t-shirts, his cats, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, travel, and Hawks basketball.

George’s greatest joy was his family- his sister, son, daughter, and grandchildren. They were his pride and he did not miss an opportunity to tell them how proud he was of them. It brought him joy to see them in all of their events and support them in all of their endeavors.

His love extended beyond his family. He had a long line of friends throughout his life from work, church, and his senior center. As they aged together, he was the first to volunteer when someone needed any type of help. His steadfast dependability was a quality that he was known for.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Patrick), grandchildren Lucy, Owen and Charlie, his son Alan, his sister Linda, and nephews Scott, Walter, and Kirby- all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his legacy of love, devotion, and generosity to family and friends will be remembered always.

A memorial celebration of life honoring George will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified once arrangements have been made.
