George Francis Gaskin

George Francis Gaskin, 82, of Cumming, GA died on April 28, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah Gaskin. A Navy veteran, George worked in the transportation industry with Air France and Mayflower. He was an avid tennis and golf player and had a passion for his garden. He dearly loved his Joan, his kids, their families and his dogs. George also appreciated a wee touch of the Scotch. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Joan Gaskin of Cumming, GA; daughter, Claudia (Michael) Penney of Atlanta, GA; sons, George C. (Dallie) Gaskin of Atlanta and John (Teresa) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Mary (Geils) Bannon of New Jersey; grandchildren, John Patrick, Mary Grace, Laney and Harry Gaskin. Funeral mass will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Brendan Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12:30 1:30 pm at the church, prior to the service.
