Freeman Willis Sr.

Freeman Willis, age 92, passed away peacefully on April 22,2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Freeman was born June 5, 1933 to the late Ansel and Essie Willis. He was a member of Salem Baptist church.

Freeman joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Lyman Hall High School and served in the Korean War.

Freeman was a hard worker and provider for his family. He co-owned Willis and Gee Heating and Air Conditioning and later owned Willis Heating and Air Conditioning.

Freeman was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Freeman was proceeded in death by his parents Ansel and Essie Willis and sister in laws Betty Miller and Doris Willis. Freeman leaves behind his wife of 69 years Mary Burdett Willis. Three children Pam (Donnie) Welch, Gene(Robin) Willis and Jimmy(Melissa) Willis. Brother Robert Willis. Grandchildren Amy(Tim) Johnson, Beth (Timmy) Johnson, Erica Willis, Tyler Willis, Cody Willis, Jenna(Joey) Riccio and Jessica Willis. Ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Three nieces and two nephews. His dog Callie and cat Kitty Cat.

We will miss our Red Dog but know we will be with him again in heaven. Until then we will cherish his memories.

The visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 12:00 pm at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, located at 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia, 30040. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church, located at 4815 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, Georgia, 30506.
