Francisca Sonmez

Francisca Sonmez, age 82, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018. She was a faithful wife to Ozer Sonmez, who precedes her in death. Mrs. Sonmez was a loving and dedicated mother to: Yasemin and Geylani Erigi, Ali and Heather Sonmez, Emel and Christopher Crawford; steadfast sister to: Antonio, Ester, Julio, Pedro and Raphael Bonet; adoring and nurturing grandmother to: Nathaniel, Isabelle and Hadley Sonmez; Evan and Noah Crawford. Mrs. Sonmez will be missed by her many close friends in the community of Cumming, as well those with whom she shared lifelong bonds and many memories. Prior to enjoying her retirement years, Mrs. Sonmez worked for over two decades as a dedicated loan officer in Washington, D.C. She pursued her hobby of gardening with much joy, was an avid reader, and an enthusiastic traveler. Mrs. Sonmez, a devoted servant to her Catholic faith, was an active member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, where a Memorial Mass service will be held 4 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Interment will take place 1 p.m., Saturday, November 24 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.
