Floyd Bailey Jr.

Floyd David Bailey Jr., age 82, of Cumming, Georgia peacefully passed away on
Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born in 1944 in Blountsville, Alabama. He was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Cumming GA. In the summers, you could find him at the beach, fishing, taking his kids and grandkids boating on the lake, or in his recliner watching the Atlanta Braves. He loved watching Alabama football in the fall and snow skiing in the winter. When he was home relaxing, you would often find one of his boston terriers cuddled up in his lap.

David is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Denise Bailey; children DJ (Phil) McVicar, Philip (Wendy) Bailey, Robert (Connie) Bailey, Erin (Eric) Day, Sonya (David) Marshall; 16 grandkids, 14 great grandkids; sisters Alberta Bailey and Sue Washburn; as well as many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd David Bailey Sr, and Lola Bell Bailey; brother-in-law Bobby Washburn; sister-in-law Melita Struve; grandson Cody McVicar; mother-in-law Mary Dodd.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1:00pm in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Pastor John Gherardini officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Interment will be held at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA.
