Dawsonville, Georgia

Faye (Winifred) Driggers Rhodes 76, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, April 15th, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Rhodes, Parents: Troy and Judy Driggers and her brother Ronnie Driggers. Faye is survived by her 2 children Joni Godbee (James) of Dawsonville, Georgia and Judson Rhodes (Crystal) of Bethlehem Georgia: Brother: Gary (Lucille) Driggers, and sisters: Wanda (Bill) Pittman and Sheila Waters, five grandchildren: Jackson Rhodes, Jake Rhodes, Hailey Godbee, Haven Godbee and Haelyn Godbee as well as nieces and nephews. Faye was born in Eastman, GA (Dodge County) and she graduated from Dodge County High School in 1966. She married her high school sweetheart February 10th of 1967 and they were married for over 55 years. After high school, Faye worked at Stuckey’s in Eastman and later she moved to Charleston, SC where she worked at Belk’s part time while staying at home during the day with Joni & Jud. She and John moved to the Atlanta area in 1980 where they settled in Roswell, GA later moving to Cumming and then to Gainesville, GA. After John’s passing, she lived with her daughter the last two years of her life. Faye worked at Northside Hospital (Atlanta) for over 20 years as Payroll Supervisor and then she continued her career in payroll at McKesson where she continued to support healthcare systems until retirement at age 65. She was well respected in her field and her coworkers knew her to be kind, funny and she exemplified Christian character. She was a friend to many and she was a beloved wife, mother and Nana and next to her relationship with Jesus, her family was the most important thing in her life. She adored her children and her grandchildren. She loved the beach immensely and while Joni and Jud were growing up and even into adulthood, she strived to keep the tradition of annual family vacations. She always put money away to ensure her young family would make special memories on vacations to Myrtle Beach and later to the Florida Panhandle. While we mourn the loss of our beloved Mother and Grandmother (Nana), sister and friend, we rejoice knowing that she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with the love of her life, John who she has sorely missed over the last two years. Proverbs 4:9 (TPT) You will be adorned with beauty and grace, and wisdom’s glory will wrap itself around you, making you victorious in the race! We celebrate a life well lived today!
