Sugar Hill, Georgia
Everett C. Martin, 76 years old, of Sugar Hill, GA., passed away December 19th, 2023. Everett was born March 7th, 1947, in Edinburg, Illinois, and lived in Chatham, Illinois, before relocating to Sugar Hill, GA, in 2015. Everett is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Martin; his daughter, Laura Martin Vittitow; son-in-law, David Vittitow; two grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew; and his brother, Lonnie Martin. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Marcella Martin; his brothers Charles Martin, Donald Martin, Ronald Martin, and Rickie Martin; and his sisters, Delores Brawner and Bonnie Fry.
Everett proudly served in the Vietnam War after signing up for the U.S. Army in 1965. He will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery. Everett was a patient and kind man. He was a devoted, caring husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. Everett’s passions were “muscle cars,” Harley Davidson motorcycles, and driving (anywhere and everywhere). In his later years, Everett began to share fascinating stories about his younger life, his time in Paris, France, and his tour of duty in the Vietnam War, all to the amusement and interest of his family.
He is deeply missed, but we rejoice that he is with the Lord and at peace. Until we see him again, we treasure our memories with this precious man dearly.
