Eleanor, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Milinis, and her loving husband, Albert. She is survived by the family that she adored over and over including her sons – Robert, Peter and Michael – her brother, William – and her grandchildren, Alexis, Amanda, Cameron, Quinn, Jack and Kate.

Eleanor was born in New York City and became a registered nurse. She spent her career taking care of others while raising her family. Even in her last days, in a kind and loving way (and with a wink and a smile), she joked with her family, friends, doctors, nurses and caretakers! She was that kind of person always trying to put others at ease in a light-hearted and caring way.

She moved her family from New York to Atlanta, Georgia in the 1970s with the hope of providing them a better life (she ended up being right like most times)! Al and Eleanor raised their family in Marietta, Georgia, and the loving couple eventually moved to Cumming, Georgia later in life after their kids left the house.

Despite whatever obstacles or unfortunate circumstances were put before her, Eleanor had a tenacious ability to preserve and overcome anything. Some might say that you can take the girl out of New York, but you couldn’t take the New York out of the girl!!! Eleanor always made the most of her life. She loved to dance (especially the polka), interact with friends and family and throw a good party. She always made sure to create memories for those she loved. There were countless trips with the family to the beach, or to see her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents, so the family could know each other and stay close. She was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed. We know that she sits proudly up in heaven knowing that she succeeded in everything she wanted out of life! All of us love you!

A funeral mass will be held at St. Brendan Catholic Church, in Cumming, Georgia, on Thursday, December 4 at 10 a.m. Eleanor will be buried, alongside Albert, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
