Elaine Wheeler

Elaine Wheeler, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Born in Cumming, Georgia, to the late Edith and Egbert Turner. Elaine was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1970.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gerald Turner, and her sisters, Katherine Walker, Joann McRae, and Joyce Shook.

Elaine is survived by her three children, Rodney Gibson of Dawsonville, Timmy (Shana) Gibson of Cumming, and Brandy Gibson of Cumming; seven grandchildren, Justin Gibson, John Luke Gibson, Brooklynn Gibson, Tyler Gibson, Casey (Lane) Moore, Alissa Gibson, and Ava Gibson; and four great-grandchildren, Jacey Sullivan, Cammie Sullivan, Tatum Moore, and Kai Gibson. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Harmony Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Rev. Jeff Wilkie and Rev. Scott Sorrells will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Harmony Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
